According to Mark W. Schafer, a world recognized blogger and social media power influencer as named by Forbes.com in the top 50 socials media influencers for 2012. If someone like Mark says you can create your own social media power then I guess you can and if you want to do it following Mark’s advice is a great place to start.
Recently, Full Sail Course Director Kerry Gorgone hosted Mark for a session on Social media. In the session Mark talked about his experience and expertise in building power and influence via social media and about his new book “Return on Influence.” I was not able to attend the live session, however I was able to see some of the video of the event that links from the FSO Blog. In the video he talked about creating content that moves through the Internet. He used the example that while the live session was happening viewers were also tweeting about the event as it happened allowing Mark to connect with people via their contacts attending the event. I found this to be a powerful idea that happens around us every day that people are not always taking full advantage of. This is just one of the takeaways that I gained from watching the video of the event. So my challenge to myself that I will invite you to do as well is to take better advantage of content that moves through the web.
